André Bélanger is a graduate of Loyola University and is admitted to practice in Louisiana, the U. S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, all federal district courts in Louisiana, and the United States Supreme Court. After graduating from law school, Bélanger was hired to serve as an Assistant District Attorney in Orleans Parish for Harry Connick where he quickly rose through the ranks to become a senior felony prosecutor. During his tenure as a prosecutor, Bélanger handled thousands of cases, brought nearly 200 cases to trial, and argued before the Louisiana Supreme Court. Bélanger concluded his services at the District Attorney's office with the retirement of Mr. Connick. At that time, Bélanger was a special prosecutor assigned to domestic violence homicides and sex crimes cases.
After leaving the Orleans Parish District Attorney's office, Bélanger served as an associate attorney for Martin Regan & Associates where he was responsible for handling the firm's state and federal criminal court cases in Orleans Parish.
Bélanger relocated to Baton Rouge after Hurricane Katrina and joined the firm. Bélanger's practice is devoted exclusively to criminal defense in both state and federal court. Along with Mr. Manasseh, Mr. Bélanger is primarily responsible for the firm's Federal court practice and Ascension Parish State court practice. Bélanger believes that his insight as a former prosecutor coupled with his significant trial experience makes him a valuable asset for the firm's clients.
Bélanger is married to the former Ashley Nicole Grissom and they are active members at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
